WASHINGTON- The Tax Foundation, a Washington, DC-based tax research group, released their 2010 Facts & Figures report on Thursday, showing how Oregon’s tax burden compares with other states’.

The report was broken down by type of tax and the level at which each state has instated those taxes. Oregon generally ranked in the middle for each type of tax, including state and local tax burden per capita, state gasoline tax, state cigarette tax, and state wine tax.

However, the Beaver State ranked high on spirit taxes and its business tax climate. Based on its rankings in the areas of corporate tax, individual income tax, sales tax, unemployment insurance tax, and property tax, Oregon came in at 14, with the lower ranked states considered to have a more favorable business climate.

Oregon ranked low in taxes on beer, as well as in selective and general sales taxes.
