PORTLAND- In Portland’s Director Park on Friday morning, media mogul Steve Forbes announced his support for Senatorial candidate Jim Huffman.
Huffman, running as the Republican candidate against incumbent Ron Wyden, welcomed support from Forbes, calling it a “boost to the campaign.”

HILLSBORO- Hundreds of citizens gathered at Hillsboro’s Schute Park on Tuesday night to celebrate the 27th Annual National Night Out, a program designed to gather communities together nationwide for crime prevention.
The Oregon Politico was on scene to talk with numerous sponsors and participants in the Hillsboro event.

TIGARD- The advocacy group Tualatin Riverkeepers held their Annual Legislative Kayak Race on Thursday afternoon, bringing in local politicians from across the Portland metro area.
Participants included State Representatives Margaret Doherty and Matt Wingard, as well as several Metro council members, county commissioners, mayors, and various political candidates seeking office this fall.

PORTLAND- Chris Dudley, Republican candidate for governor and former center for the Portland Trail Blazers, released a new television advertisement on Tuesday. The video, shown below, makes no mention of the candidate’s Democratic opponent, John Kitzhaber. Instead, the ad focuses on Dudley’s time serving with the NBA Players Union.

SALEM- Protesters gathered at the State Capitol Thursday, the final day for Americans to file their taxes, speaking to principals of less government spending and lower taxes.
The group was estimated by the gathering’s organizers, Freedomworks, to be at about 1,500 people throughout the day.
