PORTLAND- Former Governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson spoke to a small group of freedom-oriented citizens Tuesday evening at Portland’s Crystal Ballroom.

During his presentation to the group of approximately 30 people, Johnson advocated for smaller government, less government spending, drug legalization, and an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The presentation was part of a larger speaking tour called “Our America: The Gary Johnson Initiative.” The purpose of the program, Johnson said, was to travel around the country having discussions with people on issues of freedom.

Johnson served two terms as New Mexico’s governor, during which he vetoed 750 bills he deemed wasteful, earning him the nickname “Governor Veto.”
